She will play a glamorous role in Aurangzeb, which is being directed by debutant director Atul Sabharwal.
YRF honcho Aditya Chopra will produce the film, which will feature Arjun in a double role and which also features south Indian superstar Prithviraj.
As a regular in Mumbai's party circuit over the recent past, Sasha's name has been linked with Bollywood struggler Ruslaan Mumtaaz earlier. She came in the news for all the wrong reasons last year when an MMS clip that allegedly featured her and Ruslaan engrossed in a passionate kiss went viral.
After the news of the MMS was widely reported by sections of the media, Sasha along with her mother Salma called a press conference to counter the allegations, claiming that the clip was fake.
It is interesting to note that Salma made her debut with B.R. Chopra's Nikaah in 1982, while her daughter is making a debut with YRF, the production house of B.R. Chopra's younger brother Yash Chopra. Sasha was reportedly looking for the right break in Bollywood.
Identifiable by her long hair and resemblance to Salma, Sasha waited for the right project, insiders say. Mom Salma wanted a dream debut for her daughter under a reputed banner.
"The Chopras have a close association with Salma Agha. Aditya (Chopra) is personally investing time and energy to come up with the perfect look for Sasha in Aurangzeb ," a source said. "Just like her mother, Sasha too has amazing singing abilities, but as of now she has no plans of her to sing in films."
Salma Agha had a blockbuster debut with Nikaah but her subsequent films did not work. She quit the industry in the nineties after getting married to London-based Pakistani squash player Rahmat Khan.
Sasha was born in London and she shifted to India in 1999 along with her father, who runs a squash coaching institute in Mumbai.
Sasha, who has to undergo a makeover for Aurangzeb, is focusing on rigorous workouts, dance lessons and diction classes. The film also features Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Amrita Singh.
