The loss-making Prithvi Theatre has survived 35 years due to the passion of Shashi Kapoor and his family’s commitment to his father Prithviraj Kapoor’s dream of having a home for theatre. Kunal Kapoor is the first son of Shashi Kapoor and wife Jeniffer Kendal. He acted in a few films before turning to ad film making, and has company called Adfilm Valas, producing and directing television commercials since 1986 in Mumbai. He has directed more than 800 television commercials and is considered one of the better adfilm directors in India. Kunal was married to Ramesh Sippy's daughter, Sheena Sippy who is a photographer. Shashi Kapoor was Prithviraj Kapoor's youngest son. He was married to English actress Jennifer Kendal. He had three children with Kendal - Kunal, Karan and Sanjana.
