Launch of the book titled 'India Fantastique' (Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla's Book) held at the Ambani home on Saturday was many things, but above all it was a subtle but strong reminder of a new generation waiting in the wings — ready to fly. No better indication of this was the confident debut of Mukesh Ambani's Daughter Isha Ambani, who in a show of grace and elan, introduced the evening with a short informal speech marked for its warmth and sincerity.
“Abu-Sandeep have been making my clothes ever since I’ve been a baby,” she said disarmingly. “And it is only fitting that we host their 25th anniversary.” Isha who is a senior at Yale, has already proven that she’s a chip of the old block: she is the President of the South Asian Society at Yale University and has distinguished herself in her academics and extra-curricular activities; more importantly, she appears to have inherited her sense of simplicity and graciousness from her parents. “She is so charming, humble and unassuming,” said Sandeep. “My choreographers, assistants, and staff absolutely adore her,” he said adding, “All credit must be given to Nita for bringing up her children so well.”
Besides Isha, the evening also marked the debut of Amrita Singh and Saif Ali’s lovely daughter Sara Ali Khan, who walked the ramp in a pink Rajasthani ensemble with confidence that far belied her young years (View: Sara Walks the Ramp At Ambani's Party for Abu-Sandeep). And everywhere you looked the younger generation was in evidence, reminders of Time’s relentless surge.
