Critically acclaimed film director and producer Shekar Kapur who rouse to fame with Bandit Queen, is all set to direct his daughter Kaveri's first Single and Music video.
Shekhar Kapur and his estranged wife Suchitra Krishnamoorthi's 12-year-old daughter Kaveri is all set to record her first single and music video that will be directed by her dad Shekhar Kapur.
Confirming this news, her mother says that she has been composing since the age of 10. "Kaveri has written, composed and recorded her first single," said her mother Suchitra. She added, "Kaveri is 12 and has been writing and composing since she was 10, but was too shy to face the mic till now. I had to bribe her with the promise of a smartphone to record".

Suchitra herself is a classically trained vocalist, in the Gwalior gharana style of Indian classical music. She simultaneously pursued a music career in the mid to late 1990s, releasing the pop albums 'Dole Dole', 'Dum Tara', 'Aha' and 'Zindagi'. Her ex-husband Shekar starred in one of the songs.
When asked whether Shekhar had directed her first music video too, Suchitra said, "No. He only starred in it."
